Windows USB-DVD tool - Install windows from a USB Drive instead of the DVD
if you have a mini-notebook you will find out that there's no DVD drive..
You can either plug in an external drive, or use this application to install windows via USB
I prefer installing windows from USB rather than a DVD anyway
To install windows from a USB drive, Follow these steps:
- Download the windows ISO anywhere, MSDN is recommended (Official Clean version from Microsoft Developers Network)
- Download the USB/DVD tool .. Download link is provided at the end of this article
- Install the tool
- Locate the ISO in the tool
- Insert a 4GB+ USB drive .. WARNING .. MAKE SURE IT HAS NO DATA INSIDE.
- It will be formatted, and a bootable image of the windows will be placed in the USB drive
- Insert it in the new notebook/laptop/pc and start up ... Proceed with installing windows :)
Explanation by Images below:
First thing, run the application and press "Browse"
Locate the ISO file as shown below, then press next
Click on "USB Device" as shown below
As shown below, click on the drop down list and select your USB Drive, then click on "Begin Copying"
This process will take from 5 to 10 minutes.
That's all about it.
