What's the recommended windows version?

Notice: This article is based upon my very own opinion

Only Windows operating systems are rated in this article

Windows 95/98/2000/Millennium

These versions of windows are very .. VERY deprecated.
I will not talk about them at all

Windows XP

Windows XP is a good choice for old computers (Average Pentium 4 with 1 GB of RAM)

SADLY Windows XP SP3 and Office 2003 will go out of support on April 8, 2014
Source: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/endofsupport.aspx

What does that mean?
It means you will NOT get any more security updates and bug-fixes,
So, by then, I recommend replacing your PC with a newer one, and getting another version of windows (Read below)

Windows Vista

Windows Vista is the first new-era generation after Windows XP
In my opinion, this system FAILS .. drivers are not always available "Driver Compatibility Error",
and it experiences much lag and heavy loadings..

Support ends on April 11, 2017 .. you still have 4 years from today to experience this version of windows..
But I do not recommend it

Windows Seven (Windows 7)

Windows 7 is - in my opinion - the best windows operating system today, I even recommend it over Windows 8

Drivers are available in most cases, it's light and doesn't experience lag and heavy loadings

It's best to use Minimum of 2 or 4 GB of RAM and a modern processor (Core2Duo or Dual Core or above)

Support ends in 2020 (7 years from today) So we still have a great time to enjoy this operating system

Windows 8

This system is the latest from Microsoft, yet I don't recommend it, many people prefer Windows 7 over it (including me)

Suppot ends in 2023 (3 years more than windows 7 .. which is 10 years from now)

Drivers are available, it doesn't have much lag and heavy loading, but I still prefer windows 7

Notice:
My Laptop is HP Pavilion g6 which - OFFICIALLY on HP's website - has drivers for windows 8 only..
But I managed to suit drivers from other versions of the pavilion-g-series for windows 7
just because I don't like windows 8 :)

Summary: I Recommend windows 7
